This used to be an ordinary pedestrian overpass connecting Melbourne Central Latrobe to Melbourne Central Lonsdale. With the recent refurbishment works to Melbourne Central, they have decided to encase the overpass with this... thing. Is it a bubble? Is it a pod? Is it architectural license gone bad???On anoher note, I can understand why they would connect buildings with enclosed pedestrian bridges in Winnipeg seeing as in winter months, you can get severe frostbite from trying to cross the street but really, is it necessary here in Australia?
